Annual or Current Gift
An annual or current gift may be designated for use by the Vice Provost of University Outreach and International Programs where the need is greatest (unrestricted) or may be designated for a specific initiative. The gift generally is used in the year it is received. |
Permanent or Endowed Gift
An endowed gift allows for long-term planning. The principal is invested and returns annual interest. Part of the annual interest is reinvested to increase the principal, and part is used for the purpose intended (such as a yearly scholarship). Endowed funds usually carry the benefactor's name. |
Estate Gift
An estate gift or bequest can be provided through a will or living trust. Upon the donor's passing, the gift goes to the Office of University Outreach and International Programs for the intended purpose. |
Life-Income Gift
A life income gift combines current income for the donor during his/her lifetime with the intention to provide future program support. Upon the donor's passing, the charitable remainder goes to the Office of University Outreach and International Programs for the purpose intended. |
Life Insurance
A life insurance policy may designate the Office of University Outreach and International Programs as the beneficiary. |
Memorial or Tribute Gift
A contribution to University Outreach and International Programs makes a thoughtful gift in memory of an individual or as a tribute to someone living who deserves special recognition. Please see the contribution form for guidance in sending a memorial or tribute gift. |
Cash Gifts
A cash gift in the form of a check may be designated for use by the Office of University Outreach and International Programs. It should be made payable to the "UC Davis Foundation" and accompanied by written instructions stating how the gift is to be used. |
Corporate Matching Gifts
Corporate matching gifts multiply the value of your donation. If your employer has such a program, check with the company's Human Resources Office and include their "matching gift form" with your gift. |
Securities
Securities (such as stocks, bonds, mutual fund shares, etc.) may be donated to support the Office of University Outreach and International Programs. Contributing appreciated securities may offer significant tax savings for donors. |
Real Estate
Real property (personal residence, commercial properties, unimproved land, etc.) may be given to UC Davis to support the Office of University Outreach and International Programs. Contributing appreciated real estate may offer significant tax savings to donors. |
Sterling Donations (UK and US)
British and U.S. taxpayers can make donations in sterling to UC via the UC Trust (UK) in London online. The University of California Trust (UK) can collect Gift Aid on your behalf and forward that to your home campus. If giving online, please send an email to info@californiahouse.org.uk confirming that you have donated and specify the campus to which you would like your donation to be sent. |
Payroll (UK)
The most tax efficient way to give is direct from your payroll. Payroll Giving enables you to give to UC pre-tax, thereby lowering your tax liability. For more information call: 020 7079 0567. |
