On Sunday, February 18th 2007, over 40 people gathered for a UC Davis alumni and friends dinner in Manila, The Philippines. Alumnus Lucio K. Tan, Jr. (BS 1991 Civil Engineering) graciously hosted the reception at the Century Park Hotel in downtown Manila. Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef, in the Philippines for a series of meetings with educational leaders, was delighted to reconnect with so many members of the Aggie family. City of Davis Mayor Ruth Asmundson was also present, encouraging her fellow alumni to support UC Davis and become more involved with their alma mater. Several local alumni have volunteered to begin the process of creating a UC Davis alumni club in the region.
