Seven years ago our office established the New Initiatives/Seed Grant Program to give life to bold ideas in outreach and international programs. So far we have awarded over $1,000,000 to 108 diverse programs across the UC Davis campus.

We request proposals that will foster new and creative programs related to: 1) University Outreach (continuing, distance, and lifelong learning, and academic engagement with the broader society), or 2) International Programs (international research, educational, and outreach programs).

Funding ranges from $1,000 to $10,000 per proposal.

The 2008 call is now closed.  The next call is likely to be Fall 2009. In the meantime, if you are a UC Davis Faculty member who needs additional help identifying international funding sources, do search the international faculty funding opportunities website or contact us at
