Committee on Study Abroad Programs in Countries with Department of State Travel Advisories

Mission
To evaluate the safety of proposed study abroad programs in countries with Department of State Travel Advisories and make a recommendation for or against to the Vice Provost for University Outreach and International Programs,
William Lacy. The committee is only advisory.

Objectives

  • Review travel advisory documentation from the Department of State.
  • Make a recommendation for or against study abroad programs. Non-academic travel programs are not considered by the Committee.
  • In case of a favorable recommendation, continue to monitor the situation in the country for the proposed program, as the Committee reserves the right to change its recommendation and have UC Davis cancel the program at any time should the circumstances warrant.
