2008 call is now closed.  The next call is likely to be Fall 2009.

Seven years ago our office established a Seed Grants for Outreach & International Activities fund to stimulate new and creative initiatives in these two critical areas.  So far we have awarded over $1,000,000 to 108 diverse programs across the UC Davis campus.

University Outreach & International Programs (UOIP) requests proposals that will foster new programs and initiatives related to:

1) University outreach (continuing, distance, and lifelong learning, and academic engagement with the broader society), or

2) International activities (international research, educational, and outreach programs). 

Funding will be awarded from $1,000 up to $10,000 per proposal.

Preference will be given to proposals that:

• Are creative, new educational engagement and international programs
• Foster interdisciplinary collaborations
• Offer promise for additional funding or support
• Are matched with funds from other sources
• Support activities that can be sustained beyond the seed grant
• Build new partnerships
• NEW! In addition, preference will be given to faculty and academic personnel who have not been awarded a seed grant in the last 2 years

Eligibility:
Proposals will only be accepted from members of the UC Davis faculty and academic personnel.

Proposal Submittal Requirements:

1. Seed Grant Proposal Cover Sheet (word document)

2. Proposal (up to 5 pages), including these elements:

• A detailed activity description
• Describe benefits and relationship to engagement or international programs
• Proposed budget with accompanying narrative
• Documentation of matching support
• Indication of how the educational program or activity will be sustained.

3. Letters of Support (Recommended. Maximum 2 pages).
